So the fasting month has dawned upon me and my fellow muslims and breakfast has become very important to me. Well it should be at all times. But being realistic, I don’t have breakfast everyday. Could blame it on time or who knows what.
During Ramadhan, I tend to gain weight and get lazy and unhealthy. But this time, I had to change that! ASAP! I decided that oats was going to be my friend from now on-wards and man she’s doing great. I know few people who would have their oats with butter, milk and plenty of sugar. But I’m here to tell you there is no need to torture your body like that anymore.
Instead of using sugar, which at most times, you use more than you should, substitute it with honey. It’s all natural and still gives the sweetness you desire from your bowl of oats.
Add fruits! I like to have mine with bananas because they are a good way to start your day and they last for up to 12 hours in your body. So you won’t feel hungry.
And instead of using full cream milk, try low-fat. I know some of you are reading this like, ” Ain’
t no way I’m leaving that!”. Well than, baby steps, we’ll get there someday.
If I had to blog about the benefits of oats, low calories, high fibre, I could go on for forever.
So do yourself the favour, get like me and get your oats!
So I have decided to switch up my diet and try eating more healthier food that leaves my body real happy and light.
Whenever I meet up with friends or go out I tend to eat whatever. And what I mean whatever is- McDonalds, KFC, Burger King, Mugg & Bean and whatever seems convenience enough. But that has stopped.
I did meet up with a friend recently though and I wont lie I was tempted to order some greasy foods but after having my HOT CHOCOLATE ( I know bad!) then I chose a roasted veggies salad from Mugg & Bean. I was so excited to get something new and different in my body. When it arrived onto my table I was ready to dig in.
